My name is Andrea Vaccaro. I am a freelance professional with more than twenty years of experience, having worked since the beginning of my career in business services, consultancy, and inspection activities across the industrial, energy, and civil sectors.

For three years, as an employee of General Electric Oil & Gas – Nuovo Pignone, later Baker Hughes, a GE Company, I held the position of Supplier Quality Inspector / Lead Supplier Quality Inspection Specialist, acting as the main point of reference for the “Fabrication” (industrial sector) area in Central and Southern Italy.

I worked as an Inspection Specialist, ensuring the control of products and processes at suppliers’ facilities. In this role, I also witnessed critical ITP/QCP inspections at vendor sites to prevent defect escape and ensure full oversight of suppliers. My primary objective has always been to minimise production issues and prevent any “Cost of Quality” throughout all inspection phases.
For one year, within the same company, I also served as Quality Management System and Continuous Improvement Leader / Lead QA Engineer.

Except for the four years during which I was employed, I have always carried out my profession as a consultant for national and international organisations, companies, and inspection agencies.

Over the years, I have received several hundred assignments relating to:

  • quality assurance / quality control
  • expediting activities
  • audits
  • inspections and final inspections
  • supplier surveillance
  • monitoring of third‑party inspectors
  • paint inspections
  • pre‑job meetings
  • weld inspections
  • welder surveillance

A list of the projects I have been involved in can be found here.

For more than twenty years, my professional activity has been primarily dedicated to the inspection sector, with the aim of:

  • ensuring that each production phase was monitored in accordance with contractual delivery requirements and with products compliant with customer quality expectations
  • verifying that production processes were carried out in accordance with supplier procedures and customer contractual requirements
  • checking product compliance with applicable codes, standards, and technical specifications referenced in the contract between customer and manufacturer
  • verifying the completeness of the supply
  • ensuring welder surveillance to confirm compliance with Welding Books (WPS / PQR)
  • reviewing contractual documentation and revising applicable documents
  • conducting pre‑inspection / job meetings
  • reviewing Supplier Inspection Plans
  • performing expediting activities
  • carrying out QA/QC inspections
  • supervising third‑party inspector activities
  • training third‑party inspectors
  • conducting periodic audits
  • managing punch lists
  • overseeing suppliers and vendors
  • witnessing inspections in accordance with ITP/QCP requirements

Integrity and the customer’s voice are two of the strongest pillars of my profession.
I consider my work to be the “customer’s eyes” at the manufacturer’s site, providing support while remaining proactive in addressing operational needs.

I work as a mechanical inspector and am available for assignments and projects.
My skills and knowledge have been developed through extensive experience in the inspection sector—over three thousand assignments—and continue to grow through ongoing professional activity.

Over the years, I have enhanced my professional training by attending courses and obtaining qualifications in painting, welding, non‑destructive testing, auditing techniques, and site/workshop safety (including NACE, AMPP, NDT methods, Welding Inspector, etc.).
I am committed to continuous training in order to deepen and expand my expertise, ensuring an increasingly comprehensive service offering for clients.
